Ondanks hun echtscheiding houdt advocaat Peter Sanderson nog steeds zielsveel van zijn ex-vrouw Kate. Hij kan maar niet begrijpen wat hij fout heeft gedaan en waarom ze hem verlaten heeft. Toch probeert hij het verleden te vergeten. En dat lukt best dankzij de knappe juriste waarmee hij via internet kennis heeft gemaakt. Hun eerste echte kennismaking blijkt echter een ontnuchtering.
