Het verhaal over één van de grootste zeeslagen die plaatsvond tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Gedurende de oorlog werd de Bismarck, welke al vele schepen tot zinken had gebracht, door de Engelse marine achterna gezeten. Tijdens de hevige gevechten, waarbij diverse Engelse oorlogsbodems tot zinken werden gebracht, wist men uiteindelijk het majestueuze Duitse oorlogsschip in het nauw te drijven en tot zinken te brengen. The Bismarck was the fabled German battleship of World War II. This film traces the "life" of the Bismarck from its launching (courtesy of newsreel footage) through its many battles and narrow escapes, concluding with its far-from-inevitable sinking in the Spring of 1941.
