Michael Winner breathes life into a whimsical story unveiling the origin of the children from the Henry James novel, TURN OF THE SCREW. Brando's performance as the seemingly wholesome gardener is eerie, and the shocking ending of NIGHTCOMERS is truly haunting.

Na een dodelijk ongeluk van hun ouders worden Flora en Miles toevertrouwd aan de zorgen van een jonge, charmante gouvernante, een oudere huishoudster en een ongehuwde huisknecht. Deze laatste verbergt achter een vrolijk innemend gezicht, een duivels brein dat maar op één ding uit is: genot. Ongemerkt beïnvloedt hij het hele huishouden.
