Firestarter (1984)

Andrew en Vicky McGee ontmoeten elkaar tijdens een experiment waarbij zij geld verdienen door als proefkonijn te fungeren. Het experiment wordt omhuld door mysteries en achterdocht en lijkt te maken te hebben met mentale vaardigheden. Zij trouwen met elkaar en krijgen een dochter Charlie, die het talent heeft om branden te doen ontstaan door er slechts aan te denken. Uiteraard heeft de regering grote interesse in Charlie, en medewerkers van de geheime organisatie "The Shop" willen haar in handen krijgen en bestuderen.
