Aka: Back To The Future
Marty McFly, a typical American teenager of the Eighties, is accidentally sent back to 1955 in a plutonium-powered DeLorean "time machine" invented by slightly mad scientist. During his often hysterical, always amazing trip back in time, Marty must make certain his teenage parents-to-be meet and fall in love - so he can get back to the future.
A fast-moving and heart-warming comedy, BACK TO THE FUTURE is Robert Zemeckis' well-loved 1980s classic. It is the story of a teenager from 1985 who commandeers the time-traveling DeLorean invented by a wacky scientist friend, and is accidentally sent back in time to the 1950s. But the real problems start after he inadvertently disrupts the first meeting between his future parents--and his mom ends up falling for him instead. Eliciting help from the inventor of the time-machine (who is now thirty years younger), the young man must untangle the reverse Oedipal knot he's created, or he will never be born. If he can...

Contemporary high schooler Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) doesn't have the most pleasant of lives. Browbeaten by his principal at school, Marty must also endure the acrimonious relationship between his nerdy father (Crispin Glover) and his lovely mother (Lea Thompson), who in turn suffer the bullying of middle-aged jerk Biff (Thomas F. Wilson), Marty's dad's supervisor. The one balm in Marty's life is his friendship with eccentric scientist Doc (Christopher Lloyd), who at present is working on a time machine. Accidentally zapped back into the 1950s, Marty inadvertently interferes with the budding romance of his now...

-teenaged parents. Our hero must now reunite his parents-to-be, lest he cease to exist in the 1980s. It won't be easy, especially with the loutish Biff, now also a teenager, complicating matters. Beyond its dazzling special effects, the best element of Back to the Future is the performance of Michael J. Fox, who finds himself in the quagmire of surviving the white-bread 1950s with a hip 1980s mindset. Back to the Future cemented the box-office bankability of both Fox and the film's director, Robert Zemeckis, who went on to helm two equally exhilarating sequels.

Back to the Future News Articles
The people behind the film are all on board. But how on earth will they get the DeLorean to do 88mph on stage?Anyone who has seen Back to the Future as many times as me (43,672, roughly) might be supposed to feel aggrieved at the idea of the best ever film getting the Ghost treatment and being turned into a musical. But we aficionados are open-minded types, wise to the surprises of the space-time continuum. We've been raised on a story that teaches you responsible libertarianism; that every action (such as bumping into your mum after you've accidentally travelled 30 years into the past) has a consequence, but also that free will is always an ally (perhaps that mad scientist can return you to 1985 if the DeLorean going at 88mph hits the bolt of lightning that strikes the clock tower at 10.04pm precisely). And so the news that director Robert Zemeckis ,
