Returning from a hunting trip in the forest, the Henderson family's car hits an animal in the road. At first they fear it was a man, but when they examine the "body" they find it's a "bigfoot". They think it's dead so they decide to take it home (there could be some money in this..). As you guessed, "it" isn't dead. Far from being the ferocious monster they fear "Harry" to be, he's a friendly giant. In their attempts to keep Harry a secret, the Henderson's have to hide him from the authorities and a man, who has made it his goal in life, to catch a "bigfoot".
An easy-going father's life is suddenly turned upside down when his car hits a real-life bigfoot. Thinking it's dead, they bring it home only to find that it is quite alive. De familie Henderson is net op weg naar huis van een uitstapje wanneer ze iets vreemds aanrijden. Ze stoppen, en in de overtuiging dat het merkwaardige wezen dood is, nemen ze het mee. Maar wat schetst hun verbazing dat het helemaal niet dood is, maar zelfs heel levendig en heel geestig - onder een nogal angstaanjagend uiterlijk. Ook al is hij wat onhandig in hun huis, besluiten ze hem toch in het gezin op te nemen. Wat ze echter niet weten, is dat er een kwaadaardig persoon op hem jaagt.
